Security vulnerabilities

Drupal 7.11 and 6.23 were released in response to the discovery of security vulnerabilities. Details can be found in the official security advisory: To fix the security problem, please upgrade Drupal.

What is included with each release?

The Drupal team made two versions of both Drupal 7 and 6 available, so you can choose to only include security fixes (Drupal 7.11 and 6.23 respectively) or security fixes and bugfixes (Drupal 7.12 and 6.24). You can choose your preferred version. The Drupal team is trying to make it easier and quicker to roll out security updates by making security-only releases available as well as ones with bugfixes included.

LiteSpeed Cache Deployed for All Servers

We have deployed LiteSpeed Dynamic Content Cache (LiteSpeed Cache) for all servers. This will improve the performance of your website (especially busy sites).

LiteSpeed Hosting

We have excluded certain URL patterns (which should not be cached, like forum latest post, admin pages, etc) from being cached by LiteSpeed Cache.

If any client faces an issue where LiteSpeed Cache is caching any part of their website which should not be cached, please do get in touch with us to have this worked out.

Disabling LiteSpeed Cache

You may also disable LiteSpeed Cache by:-

1. On a per-directory basis by adding the following lines to the directory’s “.htaccess” file:-

RewriteRule (.*) – [E=Cache-Control:no-cache]

2. Adding the following to the PHP header file:-

(‘X-LiteSpeed-Cache-Control: no-cache’ );

About LiteSpeed Dynamic Content Cache

LiteSpeed Cache has similar features as Apache mod_cache but implemented in a more efficient way, and works like Varnish.

It is an output cache for dynamic contents, so the usage does not limit to PHP pages.

Unlike Varnish, it is built into LiteSpeed web server, eliminating one layer of reverse proxy. Hence more efficient for static contents.

All Servers Upgraded to PHP 5.2.17

PHP 5.2.17 Hosting

We have completed the upgrade of PHP for all servers to the latest stable version, which is PHP version 5.2.17.

This was scheduled and announced to all clients in a mass mail last week.

We are also planning to introducing PHP version 5.3.x as an extra choice for all servers in order for our clients to have a choice to choose between the two PHP branch. We will provide further announcements if and when this is implemented.

WordPress 3.3 Now Available

The latest and greatest version of the WordPress software — 3.3, named “Sonny” in honor of the great jazz saxophonist Sonny Stitt — is immediately available for download or update inside your WordPress dashboard.

WordPress Hosting

WordPress has had over 65 million downloads since version 3.0 was released, and in this third major iteration the WordPress team have added significant polish around the new user experience, navigation, uploading, and imports.

For Users

Experienced users will appreciate the new drag-and-drop uploader, hover menus for the navigation, the new toolbar, improved co-editing support, and the new Tumblr importer. We’ve also been thinking a ton about what the WordPress experience is like for people completely new to the software. Version 3.3 has significant improvements there with pointer tips for new features included in each update, a friendly welcome message for first-time users, and revamped help tabs throughout the interface. Finally we’ve improved the dashboard experience on the iPad and other tablets with better touch support.

For Developers

There is a ton of candy for developers as well. I’d recommend starting your exploration with the new editor API, new jQuery version, better ways to hook into the help screens, more performant post-slug-only permalinks, and of course the entire list of improvements on the Codex and in Trac.

New cPanel Hosting Control Panel Design:

With the new site design it only feels natural that the cPanel Hosting Control Panel design should change also, we like to think the new design is the “cool big brother” of our old design.

New Blog:

Just like with the cPanel we decided our blog needed to match the new design as well. It may look a little plain for the time being but we plan to have it fixed up real nice in the near future. You can find our new blog and its new link at: http://Blog.AspirationHosting.com

Uptime Report:

We thought it would be cool to have a place for our customers to get a gander at our uptime so we took that thought and turned it into a reality. Be sure to give http://Uptime.AspirationHosting.com a look to see the uptime of all our machines.

Twitter, Feedback, and Reviews:

We could never provide our amazing services if not for the people that leave us reviews and feedback. That’s why we have decided to start using Twitter a little more proactively, for status updates on our network and miscellaneous information straight from the management you can follow @AspirationH or browse to: http://twitter.com/AspirationH

Twitter is never enough to get the feedback that keeps us strong, if you have any issues with our service please send in a support ticket to our Feedback Department: http://Feedback.AspirationHosting.com

The last thing we feel that needs to be mentioned here is that we absolutely love reviews, they tell us things that most people would never tell us directly. So if you want to leave us a review head over to http://ShopperApproved.com/surveys and let us know exactly what is on your mind.

Thanks you for taking the time out of you hectic schedule to read this, we really appreciate it.
